Startup MVP Tips
Having taken businesses from idea to execution a few times, I’ve learned how to get out of my own way.
In the early days, choose how you spend your time wisely. If you have an MVP that is ready enough for sales, get out there and sell. While you could tweak your product forever, there is nothing better than getting practical real-world feedback. You won’t get that unless your product is operating in a legitimate client or customer environment.
Know—and be comfortable with the notion — that the product you launch with will not likely be the product that takes off. There is nothing better than launching to learn how your product should evolve — sooner rather than later.
Set a point of “Feature Lock” and don’t go beyond that. The best products are SIMPLE, solve an everyday problem (for someone or some group of someones).
Don’t worry about NDAs — most people cannot execute. Just start!
